Website launch
We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome to our brand-new website. How amazing does it look?
A Shining Light has been on quite a journey since our original launch event in July – we actually can’t believe just how far we’ve come in such a short space of time.
At the point of writing this we’ve raised over £15,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust – when we first set out to do this we weren’t sure if we’d sell more than 100 tickets to the launch. The generosity of our local community has been staggering and touching in equal measure and we’ll never be able to thank people enough for their contributions.
The launch was only ever designed to be the start, and the future of A Shining Light is really beginning to take place now, which is incredibly exciting. You may have seen that we recently joined up with The Terrace to make some merchandise based on the design of our charity football kit. We’ve been blown away with how much stuff we’ve sold, and we’re even more excited to announce our Christmas decorations that will be landing in the next couple of weeks.
Our partnerships in the local community have gone from strength to strength with 12 businesses already signed up to become a friend of A Shining Light. Although the charity is born and raised in Howden, we’re always looking to push our boundaries and see how far we can spread the word of what we’re trying to do. If this is something you feel that you’d like to get involved with, please check out how to on the website.
In the New Year we’ll be launching the first phase of our educational plan, which includes brining Teenage Cancer Trust in to Howden School to discuss cancer with the young people and to make them aware of the crucial signs and symptoms. Whilst fundraising may be important, raising awareness and saving lives is paramount and that’s what we want Luke’s real lasting legacy to be.
There’s that and much more to come, but for now we thank you for checking out this incredible website. A massive thanks to Michelle from And Marketing once again – we really couldn’t have done this without her.
Check back for more updates soon!
